Hughes tapped for honor society

The Delta Epsilon Iota Academic Honor Society recently selected Melanie Dawn Hughes of Hartselle for membership at its University of North Alabama Chapter. The organization rewards outstanding students through financial scholarships, provides leadership opportunities, and promotes the principles of dedication, enthusiasm and initiative. Students must have completed at least 30 semester hours and maintain a 3.3 GPA. Hughes, the daughter of Mitchell and Linda Hughes of Hartselle, is studying art education and is anticipated to graduate from UNA in December 2008. She also plans to pursue a master’s degree.
