Funeral for Carmon Nelson Sanders, 91, of Falkville was Saturday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at Hills Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Fred Nichols officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Cook Cemetery in Falkville.
Mrs. Sanders died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of Hills Chapel Church of God where she was a very active member and a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She and her late husband, R. L. “Dink” Sanders operated a store in Cole Springs for about 20 years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Sanders Drake; three brothers, William Laverne Nelson, Leon Nelson and Lavert Nelson; and a granddaughter, Barbara Sanders Kilpatrick.
She is survived by two sons, Ray Sanders and wife Betty of Falkville and J. L. Sanders and wife Ann of Hartselle; a brother, Ralph Nelson of Falkville; a sister, Marie McClellan of Falkville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
