Mary Magdalene Lipsey went to Glory Land to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006. A private graveside service will be held Thursday (today), Nov. 9, 2006, in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
She was born April 8, 1921, in Morgan County. She married Judson Lipsey of Hartselle in 1938. She was a loving and protective mother to four children; an affectionate, proud, and adoring Nana to four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, she enjoyed caring for her children, doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking for her family, and gardening. She had to weather many storms in life, but through it all she loved her family and she was faithful to her Lord. The 2nd letter of Timothy, 4:7, can best describe her life: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; her husband, Judson Lipsey; and a son, Pat Lipsey.
She is survived by a son, Will Lipsey and wife Meg; two daughters, Jean Hardy and husband Charles and Ann Roper and husband John; a daughter-in-law, Lori Lipsey; grandchildren, Stephanie DeLucenay and husband Paul, Jason Hardy and wife Allison, LeAnna Lipsey, Madison Lipsey; her great-grandchildren, Alex Durand, Jacob Hardy, Sarah Hardy and Zachary Hardy.
