Funeral for Elzin P. Childers, 91, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Childers died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle, a lifetime member of the Kiwanis Club and served as Kiwanis Lt. Governor in 1983-1984. He was a Mason and a school administrator in Morgan, Lawrence and Lauderdale Counties in Alabama and in Broward County, Fla.
He is survived by two sons, Clifton H. Childers of Granbury, Tex. and Noel K. Childers of Birmingham; a daughter, Pamela C. Bittenbender of Stuart, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Philip Childers, Douglas Childers, Michael Bittenbender and Daniel Bittenbender.
