Funeral for John Ward Jr., 76, of Danville was Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mack Carter officiating.
Burial with military honors followed in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Mr. Ward died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, at his residence. He was born May 8, 1930, in Morgan County to John Henry Ward Sr. and Bessie Stricklin Ward. He was a Baptist, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Collins Ward of Danville; a son, James Ward of Hartselle; a daughter, Martha Ward Gilbreath of Cullman; two sisters, Lottie Cantrell of Tuscaloosa and Marie Clemons of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Holden of Decatur and Addie Carol Copeland of Scottsboro; three great-grandchildren, Wesley Peterson, Nicholas Simmons and Brooklyn Holden.
Pallbearers were members of the DAV.
