Funeral for Royal Holladay, 90, of Danville was Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Bros. Jack Bailey, Danny Compton and Wayne Penn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Holladay died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 4, 1916, in Lawrence County to Richmond and Lavinia Holladay. He was a peach farmer and worked at Wolverine Tube from 1949 until 1962. He was a member and deacon at Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Holladay was preceded in death by four brothers, Guy Holladay, Clyde Holladay, Bernard Holladay and Burl Holladay; and four sisters, Pauline Gibson, Lavine Hogan, Imogene Holladay and Mae Crawford.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Crow Holladay of Danville; a son, Gregg Holladay of Danville; two sisters, Frances Quattlebaum and Gertrude Crawford, both of Logan; two grandchildren, Keri Tucker and Ashley Holladay; and a great-grandchild, Ellison Tucker.
Pallbearers were nephews.
