Funeral for Windel Smith, 78, of Priceville was Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Manly Luscomb officiating.
Burial was in Somerville Cemetery.
Mr. Smith died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born May 25, 1928, in Morgan County to Asa R. Smith and Mollie Campbell Smith. He was a member of Priceville Church of Christ, Priceville Lions Club, Priceville City Council and the American Society of Medals. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Smith and Howard (Asa B.) Smith and three sisters, Vera Thomas, Inez Campbell and Arleta Maxwell.
He is survived by his wife, Marie (Bean) Smith of Decatur; three sons, Randy H. Smith and Timothy W. Smith, both of Falkville, and Mark A. Smith of Somerville; two daughters, Debbie Smith Morgan of Macon, Ga. and Pam Smith Gibson of Madison; a sister, Willie Ruth King of Aiken, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Grandsons and nephews were pallbearers.
