A graveside service for Jesse Gene Rodgers, 89, of Hartselle was Monday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with the Rev. Walter Blackmon and Tommy Gray officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Rodgers died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, at his residence. He was born July 27, 1917, in Morgan County to Rufus “Ralph” Albert Rodgers and Minnie Lee Roper Rodgers. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Conagra as head of the shipping department. The family extends special love and appreciation to his caregiver Juana Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Lurline Rodgers of Hartselle; a daughter, Pam Smith and husband Jeff of Hartselle; two sisters, Ruby Huskey and Martha Patterson, both of Hartselle; and a granddaughter, Megan Smith.
Pallbearers were Jeff Smith, Doug Weinman, Scotty Huskey, Jerry Huskey, Louis Depreast and Steve Rogers.
