Funeral for Armon Thomas Childers, 74, of Decatur was Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating.
Burial was in Pines Cemetery in Florette.
Mr. Childers died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, at his residence. He was born July 16, 1932, to Mildridge Naphanous Childers and Frances Jeanette Hillard Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Childers of Decatur; three sons, Armon Thomas Childers Jr. of Hartselle, Randy Knighten of Decatur and Arvel Childers of Somerville; two daughters, Vickie Parkhill of Pensacola, Fla. and Kathy Austin of Decatur; a brother, Elvin Childers of Dewitt, Mich; two sisters, Mary Day of Canyon County, Calif. and Barbara Dragoo of Simi Valley, Calif; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dewayne Childers, Jason Reagan, James Holsomback, Thomas Phillips, Randy Knighten and Steve Morris.
