Priceville splits against West Limestone

West Limestone boys 66, Priceville boys 58
The Bulldogs suffered just their second loss of the season in a home loss to West Limestone Dec. 5.
Priceville held a six-point lead at halftime, but the Wildcats came from behind for the victory. The Bulldogs (7-2) were led by Josh Bedwell’s 26 points. Robert Varner had 13 points and pulled down five rebounds.
Zane Campbell had 25 points to lead the victors.
Priceville girls 71, West Limestone girls 50
Keila Hamlin scored 20 points to lead the victorious Lady Bulldogs, who also got 19 points from Adrianna Delatorre.
Melissa Johnson had 14 rebounds to lead Priceville (6-3) and Chanel McClendon added 10 boards of her own. Abbie Harris finished with seven assists.
Savannah Smith had 17 points to lead West Limestone.
Brewer boys 65, Arab boys 51
Rusty Boyd had 20 points to lead the Patriots (4-4) to a victory at home Dec. 5.
The Patriots led 19-11 after one quarter, 25-21 at halftime and 44-32 after three quarters of play.
Alex Brown added 12 for Brewer and Chris Humphries scored nine points for the Patriots. Jeremy Widener, Kohl Sowder and Rodney Child each added eight for Brewer.
Lloyd Dendy had 17 points to lead Arab in the loss.
Arab girls 49, Brewer girls 44
Arab’s Allie Smalley, who is committed to Auburn and a Player of the Year candidate, scored 25 points to lead the Lady Arabian Knights over Brewer at home Dec. 5.
Brewer (4-3) was paced by Courtney Scott’s 13 points and 11 rebounds. Andrea Crawford and Morgan Crawley each added 10 for the Lady Patriots.
Hanceville boys 51, Danville boys 47 (OT)
Danville senior Zack Orr had a strong performance but it wasn’t quite enough as the Hawks remained winless on the season after falling in a tough road game. Orr finished with 29 points, 17 rebounds and four assists in the game.
The teams were tied at 41-all after regulation and Danville (0-6, 0-3 in Area 11) led 26-18 at halftime but could not hang on against its area opponent. Roger Smith added nine points and eight rebounds for the Hawks and Russell Standridge pulled down four boards.
Danville girls 63, Hanceville girls 60
Senior post player Lauren Simmons had a standout performance in the Lady Hawks’ area victory on the road Dec. 5. Simmons scored 23 points and pulled down 20 rebounds, including 11 boards in the first quarter.
Kristen Sparkman added 18 points and 11 rebounds for Danville (5-3, 2-1). Bethany Evans had seven assists and Alaina Fitzgerald added four.
Kristen Taylor had 19 points to lead Hanceville.
