A last-minute rush of activity has resulted in eight persons applying for an unexpired term on the Hartselle School Board.
The deadline for applications was Friday, Dec. 15. Prior to that date only two persons had applied. Six of the applications were filed on the deadline date.
The City Council will conduct personal interviews with all of the candidates early next year and make an appointment at the first regular meeting after the interviews, according to Council President Kenny Thompson.
The interviews will be held Jan. 18 starting at 6 p.m.
The appointee will fill the unexpired term of Greg Cain who resigned effective Jan. 1, after he was elected as Morgan County probate judge.
The applicants are listed as follows: Larry Bennich Jr. of 1606 Berrivine Dr., an employee of United Launch Alliance; Kerry W. Hill of 620 Haley Ann Drive, an employee of Littrell Lumber Mill, Inc; Willie C. Jones of 1030 Bethel Street, Dr. James L.
