By Staff
If you are interested in becoming a foster/adoptive parent, orientation will be held Jan. 9 from 6-7 p.m. at the Morgan County DHR Office.
Group preparation and selection classes follows. Those are the 10 weeks, 30 hours of training that all prospective foster and or adopting parents are required to have completed before their home can be approved. If you are married, both you and your spouse are required to attend. You have to be married at least one year to foster and at least three years to adopt.
Classes will begin Jan. 3 from 9 a.m.-noon and will be held for 10 consecutive weeks.
There is no cost to attend the classes and you are under no obligation to finish if, during the 10 weeks, you decide foster parenting or adoption is not right for you. Child care will not be provided during the classes.
Come to the back entrance of the building for the classes. You will come into the door closest to the movie theater when you are looking at the back of the building. Call 340-5853 for more information.
