Funeral for Jimmy Neal Posey, 63, of Decatur was Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Barry Semmpsrott and Roger Jenkins officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Posey died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. He was born June 2, 1943, in Morgan County to Leo Bud Posey and Agnes McAbee Posey. He had been employed at Nichols Aluminum for 42 years and was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and a special place in his heart was held for his beloved pet, Baby Cat. The family thanks the doctors and nurses at Decatur General Hospital and UAB Hospital for the care, kindness and compassion shown to him. Her was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kimberly Posey.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Posey of Decatur; two daughters, Jada Mills of Decatur and Jill Dozier and husband Butch of Trinity; a brother, Jerry Posey of Hartselle; a stepson, Michael Houser and wife Amy of Hartselle; two stepdaughters, Beverly Coleman and husband Butch and Tina Manchester and husband Anthony, all of Decatur; three grandchildren, Asia and Josh Gardner of Trinity and Jake Mills of Decatur; nine stepgrandchildren, Jessica Ledbetter, Adam Coleman, Jeremy Ledbetter, Daniel Johnston, Cody Coleman, Dustin Coleman, Maleia Houser, Joey Manchester and Joanna Johnston; two nieces, Angel Posey and Rhonda Cheeves. Pallbearers were Butch Dozier, Butch Coleman, Anthony Manchester, Michael Houser, Jake Mills and Josh Gardner.
