Funeral for Pollie Holt, 79, of Falkville, formerly of Hartselle, was Friday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Kenney officiating.
Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
Mrs. Holt died Friday, Jan. 9, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Jessie “Ann” Russell of Falkville. She was born December 18, 1927, in Cullman County to Walter Jones and Sarah Brown Jones. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister.
She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then she worked at the TB Sanatorium, former Pineview Hospital and Lurleen B. Wallace Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Hafford Holt, and a sister, Betty Jackson.
She is survived by two daughters, Jessie “Ann” Russell and husband Joe of Falkville and Eva Stinson and husband Jake of Oden Ridge; eight grandchildren, Rodney Russell and wife Becky and Leslie Sudduth and husband Rodney, all of Cullman, Stephanie Russell and Patricia Howse, both of Hartselle; Billy Russell and wife Julia of Illinois; Ruthie Griffin and husband Tim of Blountsville; Bobby Russell and wife Candice and Mindy Runge and husband David, all of Falkville; a brother, Leroy Jones of South Carolina; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Pallbearers were Tim Griffin, Rodney Sudduth, Scott Runge, Matthew Russell, William Howse and Bobby Russell.
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to LifeCare Hospice of Cullman for all of their love and care. Very special thanks and love go to her nurse, Starla Dooley, and her home health aide, Carolyn Gentry.
