Driver killed in one-vehicle wreck

A one-vehicle accident on Vaughn Bridge Road claimed the life of a Decatur man Jan. 31.
George Belchic, 46, died at Huntsville Hospital after he was rushed there by medical helicopter. He received multiple injuries when he was ejected from his vehicle after it left the roadway at Taylorville Private Drive.
Belchic was driving west when the accident took place at approximately 1 p.m. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to State Troopers.
An investigation of the accident is continuing.
