Funeral for Patricia Ann Gilbert, 57, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. at Son Rise Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Bridges officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Gilbert died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Vanderbilt University Hospital. She was a faithful member of Son Rise Baptist Church. She was a loving, caring and giving person who loved the Lord and cherished her family and two grandchildren. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
She was fortunate enough to receive the gift of life in her time of need and she reciprocated by giving the gift of life upon her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Constance Virginia Russell and J. T. Russell; and two brothers, Codie Russell and Harold Russell.
She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Donnie Gilbert; a daughter, Wendy G. Delinski and husband Bernie of Sheffield; a son, Chris Gilbert of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Katie Delinski and Kelsey Delinski; both of Sheffield; a sister, Lynda Klein and husband Paul of Midland, Texas; a brother, Jim Watts and wife Tami of Hartselle; father-in-law, Charles Gilbert of Hartselle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny Gilbert and wife Sharon and Carolyn Segars, all of Hartselle; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Pallbearers were David Brown, Jay Russell, Joshua Russell, Tony Sapp, Mark Sapp and Jimmy Tapley.
Billy Brown was a honorary pallbearer.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Vanderbilt University Hospital and Vanderbilt Medical Center Pulmonary Unit for their special care of Mrs. Gilbert during her illness and also the members of Son Rise Baptist Church and friends and families too numerous to name for their love, support and many prayers.
