Priceville 2, Madison County 0
The Bulldogs won the Butler Preseason Tournament Friday as Gene Blankenship and Lance Hughes combined for a shutout.
Blankenship worked the first six innings to pick up the win and Hughes earned the save after a scoreless seventh.
Matt Croft, Rand Hutchinson and Aaron Sawyer each had a single for Priceville (2-0).
Hartselle 7, Etowah 5
Quinn Dunlap finished 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, Jake Bradford was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Tony Weaver was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, Ryder Brasher finished 2-for-4 with a run scored, Caleb Murphy was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Josh Aycox had an RBI and finished 1-for-1.
J.C. Bates picked up the win and Brasher earned the save.
Gadsden City 11, Hartselle 10
Will Chappell was 1-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and a double. Caleb Murphy and Tony Weaver each finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and Jake Bradford was 1-for-4 and scored a run for Hartselle (4-2).
Priceville 20, New Hope 4
The Bulldogs had little trouble with New Hope at the Butler Preseason Tournament.
Dustin Chambers finished with four RBIs and hit a home run, while also picking up the win on the mound for Priceville. He struck out seven in three innings to pick up the victory.
Eli Allen and Matt Croft each had 3-for-3 hitting performances for the Bulldogs.
Hartselle 9, Grissom 4 (Game 1)
Hartselle 8, Grissom 6 (Game 2)
The Tigers swept Grissom on the road Feb. 22 in the first doubleheader of the season.
In the first game, Jake Bradford finished with four RBIs and two doubles and Will Chappell scored two runs. Josh Aycox scored two runs and had an RBI.
Will Rankin picked up the win, going three innings and allowing three hits and three runs. Chad Girodo earned the save by pitching the final four innings.
In the second game, Ryder Brasher picked up the win, pitching two scoreless innings and striking out two while allowing one hit.
Aycox finished 3-for-4 in the game and had two RBIs. Tyler Young also had two RBIs and finished 1-for-3 with a double. Ethan Widener finished 2-for-3 and scored a run and Tony Weaver was 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored a run.
