A memorial service for Margaret Elizabeth Mann Carlisle, 78, of Hartselle, will be Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Sherrill officiating.
Mrs. Carlisle died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at her residence. She was born Jan. 15, 1929, in Jefferson County to William Mann and Ernestine Elizabeth Scherl Mann. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was an orchid enthusiast and a member of the Heart of Dixie Orchid Society. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Ernest Mann.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy J. Carlisle Jr. of Hartselle; two sons, Wesley L. Carlisle and wife Pam of Hartselle and William W. Carlisle of Tuscaloosa; two daughters, Donna L. Matherly and husband Dennis of Springfield, IL and Wendy C. Adams and husband Chris of Homewood; a sister, Clara Sherrill and husband Billy of Pell City; three grandchildren, Andrew Carlisle, Sara Matherly and Luke Matherly; and three great-grandchildren.
