Funeral for Robert Lamar Puckett, 75, of Hartselle was Monday, Mar. 5, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Salter officiating and Ridout’s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Puckett died Saturday, Mar. 3, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 22, 1931, in Morgan County to Rube Puckett and Mattie Kirby Puckett. He graduated from Danville High School and Auburn University and served as a combat veteran during the Korean War.
He was a school teacher and administrator in Alaska, Guatemala and Alabama and a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by six brothers, R.E. Puckett Jr., Elmer Puckett, L.F. Puckett, J. D. Puckett, Clifford Puckett and John Thurman Puckett, and a sister, Lazelle Puckett Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Holladay Puckett of Hartselle; two sons, John L. Puckett and Robert E. Puckett, both of Danville; a daughter, Alison Mullins of Mechanicsburg, Penn.; a brother, Lucien Puckett of Bolivar, Tenn.; a sister, Ann Henderson of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were sons, grandsons and nephews.
