Woman pleads guilty to theft

A Hartselle woman pled guilty to theft charges in connection with an alleged welfare fraud scheme.
Latasha Muhammad, 32, of Hartselle, pled guilty Feb. 25 to second-degree theft of property in the amount of $5,823. She was sentenced to one year and one day in jail, which was suspended. She was placed on five years probation. She was also ordered to pay full restitution to the state.
