Funeral for Edith V. Mitchell, 86, of Kalamazoo, Mich., was Wednesday, Mar. 14, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronald Jack Gibson and Danny Gibson officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Mitchell died Sunday, Mar. 4, 2007, at Heartland Healthcare Center in Kalamazoo. She was born March 25, 1920, in Lawrence County to Willis Louis Gibson and Maudie Lucille (Hill) Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Mitchell, two children, Garnell and Joyce, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Delia Haynes and husband Franklin of Paw Paw, Mich.; two sisters, Becky Chenault of Decatur and Leveal Smith of Hartselle; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
