Funeral for Charles “Tommy” Riggs, 75, of Hartselle was Wednesday, March 21, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Brad Roath and David Bradford officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Riggs died Sunday, March 18, 2007, at his residence. He was born July 27, 1931, in Morgan County to Charles Buford Riggs and Edna Horsley Riggs. Mr. Riggs was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Riggs of Hartselle; three sons, Tommy Hal Riggs of Decatur, Jimmy Riggs of Trinity and Tim King of Birmingham; six daughters, Susan McAbee, Karen Hopkins and Gloria “Tootie” Smith, all of Hartselle, Sharon Riggs of Atlanta, Ga. and Kathy Wilson and Jada Hosey, both of Birmingham; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
Pallbearers were Alan Tatum, Mark Summerford, Gene Herring, David Prudew, Tony Legg and Don Segars.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Penn, A.D. Hargrove, Rodney Brooks, Frank Campbell, Jack Crutchfield, Jeff Davis and Keith Burch.
