Funeral for Larry Chandler, 55, of Hartselle was Tuesday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Redfern and Bob Gordon officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Chandler died Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 25, 1951, in Morgan County to Gene Chandler and Dean Chandler.
He was a nationally recognized wildlife artist whose paintings in competitions sponsored by Ducks Unlimited were chosen for state duck stamps in Alabama, Arkansas and Kentucky. Most recently, he painted a new logo for The Hartford Insurance Company as well as a commemorative stamp featuring the recently rediscovered Ivory Billed Woodpecker. He was a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Chandler of Hartselle; three sons, Arby Chandler and wife Julie of Mobile and Ashley Chandler and Jeffrey Chandler, both of Hartselle; his parents, Gene and Dean Chandler of Decatur; a brother, Gene Chandler and wife Cindy of Decatur; a sister, Nancy Chandler Pittman and husband Dave; and two grandchildren, Carson and Dallas Whitehead.
Pallbearers were Phillip Chandler, Gene Chandler, Eric Coleman, Roger Stephenson, Mike Schreck, Euyless Holcomb and Shane Brock.
