Tanner sentenced to six months in prison

A former Hartselle minister convicted of indecent exposure in connection with a sting at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge will spend six months in prison.
Gradson Tanner, 48, is also required to serve a year of supervision once he’s released and must register as a sex offender.
Tanner was among those cited last July in connection with reports of illicit activity at the refuge.
Tanner was charged with abusive sexual contact and indecent exposure for alleged contact with a male undercover officer. In February, a jury found Tanner guilty of the exposure charges but could not reach a verdict on the abusive sexual contact charge.
The abusive sexual contact charges were dropped this week at Tanner’s sentencing. Tanner, who resigned as pastor of his church, will start serving his sentence April 17.
