Funeral for Joe Reece Junkins, 72, of Owens Cross Roads was Sunday, Apr. 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Milam Metcalf officiating. Burial was in Falkville City Cemetery.
Mr. Junkins died Friday, Mar. 30, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born August 4, 1934, in Morgan County to Comer Junkins and Nona Lee Love Junkins. He was retired from the Redstone Arsenal Missile Command and was instrumental in helping to rebuild Falkville Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Comer and Nona Lee Junkins, and a brother, Donald Ray Junkins.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Junkins of Owens Cross Roads; two sons, Steven Junkins and wife Gwen and Tom Braswell and wife Wendy, three daughters, Tammy McCurley and husband Mike, LeeAnn Matanane and husband Ben and Kristie Owens and husband Jeff; two brothers, Jerry Junkins and wife Freda and Danny Junkins and wife Janet; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
