Funeral for John P. Halbert, 68, of Somerville was Wednesday, April 11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Bowling officiating.
Burial was in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mr. Halbert died Monday, April 9, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a 23 year honorable retiree from the U.S. Navy and a dedicated member of the Florette Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Louise Kent and a nephew, John W. Clement.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Murphy Halbert; a son, Spence Matthew D’Olive; a daughter, Jacqui Scoble; a sister, Ellen I. Reener; five nieces, Tina Allen, Tammy Payne, Tonya Oney, Teri Heusell and Cindy hallstrom; a nephew, Jason Schwartz; and six great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Bruce Payne, J. R. Heusel, Mike Childers, Steve Thompson, Ray Lindsey and Caleb Lindsey.
