Suspect in school threats in custody

The former student suspected of making threats against Hartselle High School lives in South Carolina and may soon face charges in connection with the Wednesday incident.
Classes at Hartselle High School were temporarily interrupted April 18, after threatening language posted on an internet web site reached the office of Principal Jerry Reeves.
Meanwhile, school officials permitted students to notify their parents or other family members by phone and have someone come by the school and check them out.
According to the Hartselle Police Department, a report of a threat against the school was received from a former student. School officials requested the extra presence of a uniformed officers and the school was placed under modified lockdown.
Local authorities in South Carolina were notified of the incident and were able to locate the subject. The school resumed normal activities once the suspect was in police custody.
Hartselle Police are now working with authorities in South Carolina to determine what charges the suspect will face.
