Enquirer wins top advertising award

The Hartselle Enquirer won the Sweepstakes Award in the Alabama Press Association’s Better Advertising Contest, the second time in four years the Enquirer has garnered top honors.
The contest recognizes the best in advertising ideas and production for the previous year. The Enquirer was honored in the large weekly newspaper division.
In addition to the Sweepstakes Award, the Enquirer won first place and second place in Best Newspaper Promotion by Copeland; first place Best Classified Display ad by Copeland; first place Best Use of Humor in advertising by Copeland; second place, Best Creative Advertising Idea by Copeland and Davis; third place, Best Single Color Ad less than half a page by Gore; and third place, Best One-Time Special Section by the staff for the section on Coach William Booth’s state record-setting victory.
Fifty-one newspapers submitted more than 1,200 entries were submitted for this year’s contest. The entries were judged by the Louisiana Press Association.
