A celebration of life service for Deborah Kay Briscoe of Decatur was Saturday, April 21, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal with the Rev. Tedd Koelln officiating.
Mrs. Briscoe died at her home in Old Decatur Tuesday, April 17, 2007. She had endured a lingering illness and her family is certain she is at peace. Her family, whom she adored, was her world. Old Decatur fascinated her and she served the community.
She graduated from Morgan County High School and had worked at Champion Paper and other local firms. She served actively on the Flower Guild at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, of which she was a member. She was a former member of the Decatur Charity League and local PTA groups. She is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Briscoe of Decatur; two daughters, Maggie and Kathryn, who along with her faith remained her constant help; her father-in-law, Ewell Briscoe; and sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Jim Briscoe and their daughters Madeleine and Rochelle. Her parents precede her in death, and she was an only child.
Honorary pallbearers were Billy Chenault, Ellis Chenault, Bobby Howell, Ed Land, Gary McConnell, Jerry McGinnis and Frank Price. Friends at Williams-Briscoe Auto Parts and Top Line Tires were dear to her. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
