A young Hartselle military policemen home on furlough gives a much brighter picture of conditions in Iraq than what is normally heard, viewed and read in the national media.
Vest is stationed in Southern Iraq with the 152nd Military Police Company, a security unit consisting of guardsmen from throughout the state. He was home last week visiting his wife, Sarah Vest, in Falkville and his parents Tony and Donna Vest in Hartselle.
Vest said he’s glad to be home, even if it is for just a little while.
The Vests were married in March 2006, when he w as employed with Jackson Plumbing Company and pulling National Guard duty at the armory in Scottsboro. He was activated
last summer and arrived in Iraq in late September. His unit is on a one-year deployment.
