District Three, Four roads reopen

Two Morgan County roads that were closed to traffic for five to six months due to bridge replacement projects are now open.
Keller Hollow Road in District 3 and Pleasant Valley Road in District 4 were re-opened May 5 and 9, respectively.
The Keller Hollow Road bridge, a 14-ft.wide single span structure, had been closed since Nov.2, 2006, while it was being replaced with a 20-wide three-barrel concrete bridge culvert. The cost of the project was $490,000.
The Pleasant Valley Road bridge, a 16-ft. wide single span structure, has been closed since Jan.15, while it was replaced with a 20-ft. wide three-barrel concrete bridge culvert.
The cost of the project was $350,000.
Both bridges were more than 50 years old. Their replacement was under contract to Carcel &G Construction of Cullman.
