Former student makes return visit

Many young women often decide to go into the teaching profession but fewer men seem to have that calling, especially if it involves teaching younger children. One such young man, however, got his start at F.E. Burleson Elementary, graduated from Auburn University and has gone on to become a kindergarten teacher in Atlanta.
Although Michael Bosley’s family moved from the area after elementary school, he still has fond memories of the town and has stayed in touch with his own kindergarten teacher, Jan Thompson Brewer.
Recently, Bosley took a vacation day and came to visit at Burleson and spend the day in kindergarten. The 5-year-olds had a difficult time believing “that boy” had been as young as they were at one time and had been in kindergarten with their own teacher. However, they enjoyed spending the day with him.
Brewer said she was honored Bosley came to visit and even more astounded he had become a kindergarten teacher.
Bosley said he may go into administration later on but for now he likes the classroom and his students are doing well. He plans to marry an exchange teacher from Costa Rica this summer.
