Garner Road property rezoned

Hartselle’s City Council has cleared the way for construction on 34 acres on Garner Road.
The council recently approved rezoning the property to allow for a residential development. The zoning would allow only single-family homes, a change from an earlier request when the developer Bill Camp asked to also build townhomes on the property. Camp later withdrew that request after area residents complained of excess traffic in the area.
The council also agreed to rezone a single-family residence and lot on West Main Street from residential to business. The move will allow the home to be used as a business office. The council also approved rezoning a single-family residence and lot besides Barkley Bridge School from agriculture to residential. The lot will be divided into two lots.
