Hensley, Posey exchange vows
Katrina Marie Hensley of Danville and Gary Brandon Posey of Hartselle were wed Feb. 24, 2007, at Piney Grove Christian Church in Falkville. The Rev. Terry Nappier officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Wayne and Jeanette Hensley of Danville. The groom is the son of Jimmy and Donna Tatum of Hartselle.
The church and altar were decorated in pink, black and white with greenery. White columns flanked an arch on either side of the altar.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Kristy Tatum Culberson of Decatur, sister of the groom, was matron of honor. Cassie Stisher of Hartselle and Kaitlyn Hensley of Danville were bridesmaids.
Attendants wore pink and black dresses with pink streamers and carried pink flowers with greenery. Attendants wore matching Journey necklaces, gifts from the bride and groom.
Hannah Hensley of Danville and Ashley Tatum of Hartselle were flower girls.
Quinton Freeman of Valhermoso Springs was ring bearer.
Honorary best man was Christopher Posey, brother of the groom, who is currently serving in Iraq. Best man at the ceremony was Russell Roberts of Hartselle. Groomsmen were Brad Irwin of Hartselle and Jordan Towe of Hartselle. Groomsmen also served as ushers.
Music was provided by Drew Tatum of Florence.
A reception was held at Piney Grove Christian Church.
The bride’s cake was four-layers with white buttercream frosting with each layer trimmed in pink ribbon. The top layers were adorned with flowers to match the bride’s bouquet.
The groom’s cake was a single-layer chocolate cake topped with a bride and groom and sugar frosted grapes and strawberries and strawberries with chocolate tuxedos.
The wedding was directed by Kym Hensley of Danville. Family and friends of the bride and groom assisted with the reception. After a honeymoon trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Danville.
A rehearsal party was held Feb. 22 at Piney Grove Christian Church and hosted by the groom’s parents.
The couple was also honored with a bridal shower hosted by Kristy Tatum Culberson in her home in Decatur Feb. 11.
Sandlin, Alexander to wed
Robert and Jena Sandlin of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Leann Sandlin, to Thomas Cole Alexander, son of Scott and Patti Alexander of Eva and Joey and Lasanna Holmes of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Bill and Cathy Gardner and the late Hance and Jackie Sandlin. A 2006 graduate of Falkville High School, she is seeking a degree in business administration from Wallace State Community College.
The future groom is the grandson of Myron and Laura Tapscott of Hartselle and Charlie and Bessie Alexander of Eva and the great-grandson of June Fuller of Hartselle. A 2004 Falkville High School graduate, he is seeking a degree in machine engineering and is employed with Summerford Nursing Home.
The wedding is planned for July 7, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
