A graveside service for Willie M. Hughes, 87, of Decatur was Monday, May 21, at 10 a.m. at Morris Cemetery in Jefferson County with the Rev. Hal Dalgre officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hughes died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur. She was born May 10, 1920, in Jefferson County to Theodore Houston McClurg and Mary Haywood McClurg. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Flint and was retired from Standard Oil Company in Birmingham.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Morgan and husband Kenneth of Decatur and Margaret Walker and husband Robert of Alabama; three brothers, Bill McClurg of Florida, Pinkey McClurg of Trussville and Hugh McClurg of California; two sisters, Betty Hart of Blount County and Sarah Adkins of Irondale; two grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
