A stadium filled with proud faculty members, parents, relatives and friends watched and applauded as 189 members of the Hartselle High School Class of 2007 received their diplomas during their school’s 96th commencement program Friday night.
In his welcoming comments, Principal Jerry Reeves said the class excelled in all of its endeavors and left a mark that will be difficult for succeeding classes to match.
Twenty-three class members were recognized as honor graduates with grade point averages of 4.0 or better. Each of them received a distinctive medal to commemorate their achievement. Four of them had speaking parts on the program. Quinn Dunlap gave the welcome address, Laura Summerford reflected on past accomplishments, Hannah Lackey offered encouragement with her comments and Shannon Coots gave the farewell address.
A highlight of the program was the singing of “Bridge over Troubled Waters” by the HHS Chorus.
