Harley D. Pierson

Funeral for Harley D. Pierson, 86, of Hartselle was Friday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Junior Hill and Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens in Decatur.
Mr. Pierson died Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. He was born March 1, 1921, in Arkansas to Clyde Pierson and Harriet Felts Pierson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Homer Pierson and Ray Pierson.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Decatur who loved his Lord and his family with all of his heart and was never too busy to help his fellowman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1941 until 1945. He was involved in the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He also fought in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Patrick) Pierson of Hartselle; a daughter, Pat Crouch and husband Dr. Will R. Crouch of Hartselle; a sister, Thelma Barkley of Bono, Ark.; three grandchildren, John Crouch and wife Amy, David Crouch and wife Celceste and Steve Crouch; and three great-grandchildren, Lyndsey, Emily and Logan Crouch.
Pallbearers were Dr. Phil Gault, Robert Francis, Robert Wright, Charles Howse, Mike Elam and Bert Elam.
