Funeral for LeShaamon Shorrell Garth, 31, of Hartselle was Saturday, June 2, at 12 noon at Hartselle First Missionary Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. Billy Ray Young officiating and Sharpley Funeral Home of Decatur directing.
Burial was in Hartselle Cemetery.
Mr. Garth died Sunday, May 27, 2007, in Gulf Shores. He was born December 11, 1975, in Morgan County to Jaye Garth Allen and Fletcher Turney Jr. He accepted Christ at a young age and joined Hartselle First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Gregory Smith. He attended Hartselle High School. He showed a sincere love for his daughter Asia and his family, and enjoyed sports and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by a daughter, Asia Nicole Wesley of Florence; his mother and stepfather, Jaye Garth Allen and Robert R. Allen of Hartselle; his father, Fletcher Turney Jr. of Hartselle, his stepfather, David Swoope of Gary, Ind.; two brothers, Miguel Valentin of Hartselle and Fletcher L. Bonney of Detroit, Mich.; four sisters, Chiquita Valentin of Hartselle, Tunhunn Malone and Kizzy Malone, both of Huntsville; and Daimond Turney of Birmingham; his grandmothers, Melvena Garth and Mildred Turney, both of Hartselle; two stepgrandmothers, Dorothy Swoope of Decatur and and Christine Allen of Hartselle; a stepbrother, Cody Allen of Hartselle; a stepsister, Nicole Allen of Madison; two nephews, Deaigo Valentin and Derik Malone; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Ahmad Jackson, Michael Garth, Maurice Burton, James Nicholas, Brandon Orr, Kevin Hoult, Korrie Chapman and Shannon Lampkin.
