'Bennie' Neighbors

Funeral for "Bennie" Neighbors, 85, of Hartselle was Sunday, June 17, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Drs. Jeff Redmond and William Hacker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Neighbors died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at his residence. He was born June 2, 1922, in Coosa County to Jim B. Neighbors and Maxie Mae Ward Neighbors. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Hartselle, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Lions Club. He loved his family and his church. He was a faithful Meals-on-Wheels volunteer for more than 10 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Weaver Neighbors of Hartselle; a son, Jim Keith Neighbors of Valhermoso Springs; a brother, Jack Neighbors of Georgia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were Elton Weaver, Paul Guire, Lawrence Brown, John Montgomery, Bill Carroll and Chick Carlton.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Valley.
