Funeral for Cecil Fain McCurley, 81, of Decatur will be Thursday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Greenbrier Baptist Church in Madison with The Rev. Rickey Lowery officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.
Mr. McCurley died Monday, July 2, at Decatur General Hospital. He was a resident of Hartselle for many years and most recently resided in Belle Mina and at Cedar Springs Cedar Campus. He was a wartime veteran of World War II and retired owner of McCurley Office Supply and Printing of Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Harry B. McCurley of Tanner and two sisters, Lila Mae McCurley Mitchell of Athens and Anne McCurley Price of Huntsville. He is survived by two daughters, Kayce McCurley Bell and husband Jack of Hartselle and Deirdre "DD" McCurley Ellis and husband David of New Orleans, La; a son, Mark Emerson and wife Cam of Somerville; a brother, Robert F. McCurley and wife Bea of Hartselle; a sister, Pauline McCurley Hatfield of Huntsville; a sister-in-law, Ruby McCurley of Tanner; three grandchildren, Chandler Bell of Kennesaw, Ga., and Brandon and Seth Emerson, both of Somerville; several nieces and nephews; cherished cousins; and many friends.
Pallbearers were Steve Hatfield, Terry Hatfield, Gene Marsh, Steve McCurley, Tim McCurley and Allen Phillips.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley or American Heart Association.
