Class teaching upholstery skills
By Staff
Wallace State Community College in Hanceville will offer a beginning upholstery class on Mondays and Tuesdays, July 9 through Aug.13, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Techniques will be demonstrated and applied to projects students bring from home.
Beginning projects may include ottomans, footstools, cushions, pillows, dining room chair bottoms, side chairs and outdoor furniture. Students may also learn to make pillows, cushions, placemats, totes and purses. Basic working knowledge of sewing machines is helpful but not required. Students will be taught to use staple guns and industrial sewing machines.
They will need to furnish supplies such as scissors, pins, measuring tape, fabric and materials. For more information about this Continuing Education opportunity, 352-8166 or 352-8157.
