Comer Hiram Crisler

Funeral for Comer Hiram "Big Hiram" Crisler, 60, of Decatur was Wednesday, July 4, at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve McGee officiating.
Burial was in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Crisler died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital. He retired from Meadow Gold Dairy after many years of service and most recently was employed by Advanced Building Supply. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terrell Crisler, and a sister, Brenda Crisler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra Dyar Crisler of Decatur; two sons, Comer Hiram Crisler Jr. and wife Roxane of Decatur and Alan Dyar Crisler and wife Amy of Hartselle; three grandsons, Brodie Hiram Crisler, William Aidan Crisler and Nathanial Lyons Crisler; his stepmother, Pauline Bolling Crisler of Town Creek; three sisters, Gwen Brackin and husband Billy Jack, Janelle Brumley and Linda Rodgers and husband Kenny; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Hiram "Big" as he was affectionately called at times, was a man whose life truly revolved around his family and large circle of friends. He loved his place in life as a husband of Sandra for 41 years; a father to Hiram Jr. and Alan; a "second father" to Roxane and Amy; a grandfather to Brodie, Aidan and Nate; and a friend to many, many more.
Pallbearers were J.R. Johnson, Wayne Mahaffey, Richard Lyons, Jay Cawley, James Roy Loosier, Stanley Howse, Mark Mears and Brandon Eady.
