Eagerly waiting for two big July arrivals

Everyone in my house is looking forward to a big day this month. Two big days, actually.
The first, and certainly the most important, is the arrival of our little one later in July. The other big day is the release of the new Harry Potter book, the last in the series and the one that will hopefully explain all the things we've been wondering about.
The new Harry Potter book is set to be released July 21, which just so happens to be the same day we're sort of thinking our baby will make her way into the world. And while I'm sure family and friends will be excited when Sutton Gore arrives, millions around the world will be in line for the Potter book.
Just to make sure we got some copies, too, I went to a local book store the other day and purchased two vouchers. The vouchers ensure your place in line starting at midnight on July 20. I got one voucher for Greg's son, Derek, and another for myself. There is no way I could wait for him to get done before I started reading the book, so we're just going to have a couple of copies. Greg, whose idea of heavy reading is the latest Auburn football recruiting email, will listen to the book on CD. I don't know if they are selling vouchers for CDs, so he's pretty much on his own. Plus, he will rely on Derek and I to give him chapter-by-chapter replays of the book.
I was all excited to tell Derek about the vouchers. After all, he was the one who got me reading the Harry Potter series in the first place. Since then, we've had many dinner conversations on what is a horcrux, is Professor Snape really bad and the significance of Neville Longbottom.
"I bought them and you can go stand in line," I said, thinking this was a fair trade.
Everything was fine until he realized he might be out of town that day and wouldn't be able to stand in line to pick up our books.
"We'll send your dad," I said. "I don't think the doctor is going to let me leave the hospital to go stand in line with a bunch of people dressed up like Professor Dumbledore just so I can pick up a book."
If I'm still at home that night, I'm sure I won't get much sleep. Like so many others, I'm so curious to find out how the story ends that I will stay up all night just to read more.
Then, and only then, will I be ready to head to the hospital and get ready for the other new arrival.
And if our baby girl decides to arrive early, we're just going to have to work things out somehow: "Breathe, breathe. Read, read. Yell, yell. Read some more, read some more."
