National finishes 2nd at 7/8 district; American 3rd

Hartselle National's 7/8-year-old All-Stars were the runner-up at the District 1 Tournament in Athens last week, finishing with a 3-2 record. Hartselle American was the third-place team in the district and Decatur National was the champion.
Decatur National 11, Hartselle National 1
Hartselle National finished with 15 hits, all singles, but could manage just one run in the championship game against Decatur National July 5.
Chandler Stinson had the game's only RBI and Will Howse scored the only run. Howse, Connor Landers, Ryan Wallwork and Jack Hackett had two singles each and Nicholas Johnson, Kyle Eddy, Stinson, Colin Boggs, Jordan Hartsell, Jordan Thompson and Beau Nosal each singled once.
Hartselle National 10, Decatur American 1
Connor Landers finished with five RBIs, a run scored, a triple and two singles to help pace National to a win July 4. Johnson and Eddy each had three singles and scored two runs and Howse finished with two singles, a double and a run.
Hackett and Houston Wright each had three singles and scored a run and Thompson and Hartsell each had two singles and a run. Nosal and Stinson each had one single and one RBI, Boggs had two singles and an RBI and Wallwork had one single.
Hartselle National 13, Morgan Central 1
Jordan Hartsell hit a three-run home run in the second inning to help pace National to a mercy-rule victory in three innings July 3. Boggs and Wallwork each had two RBIs and Landers, Stinson, Hackett and Wright each picked up one RBI.
Landers scored two runs and Johnson, Eddy, Howse, Stinson, Thompson, Wright, Boggs and Nosal each scored one. Landers finished with two doubles and Wallwork, Thompson, Wright, Boggs and Nosal each had two singles.
Decatur American 12, Hartselle National 2
After opening the tournament with a win against Hartselle American, National dropped to the losers' bracket with its loss July 2.
Eddy and Wallwork scored the game's runs and Thompson picked up the only RBI. Landers and Thompson each singled twice and Johnson, Eddy, Stinson, Wallwork, Hackett and Wright had one single each.
