Hartselle 13's advance to State

Hartselle's 13-year-old All-Stars advanced to the North Division State Tournament in Athens with a 8-3 win over Hamilton in the District 1 Tournament final July 11 at Cedar Ridge Middle School in Decatur.
The 14-year-olds were eliminated in their district tournament, falling to Decatur National by a 6-4 score.
The 13-year-olds open state tournament play July 20.

Jacob Garrison worked five innings, allowing just two hits, to help pace Hartselle to a championship victory. He struck out seven and walked two and also pitched in at the plate with a double.
Colby Nelson doubled and hit two singles and Gavin Marsh, Kameron Wallace and Landin Henderson each hit a single.
Decatur National 6, Hartselle 14's 4
Hartselle led 4-2 after five innings before Decatur National battled back with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Garret Teague hit a two-run home run to help pace the victors.
For Hartselle, Will Lang hit a double and Seth Wiley, Chance Partlow, Jackson Reeves and Ryland Blankenship each had a single.
