A graveside service for Christine Smith, 88, of Cullman was Friday, July 20, at 4 p.m. at Lebanon Cemetery at Speake with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Lawrence County to Thomas Jefferson Chenault and Gertrude Hattilou Stephenson Chenault. She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her husband, Louis S. Smith.
She is survived by two sons, James Tommy Smith and wife Faye of Hartselle and David Smith and wife Mary of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters, Shirley Long and husband Don of Murry, Ky. and Sandra Hall and husband Jerry of Hartselle; a brother, Rual Chenault of Speake, two sisters, Niecie Teague of Falkville and Mable Johnson of Decatur; seven grandchildren, Beth McCagh-ren, Renee McCaghren, Cullen Smith, Stacey Hall, Stephanie Smith, Teresa Long and Gary Don Long; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Cullen Smith, Dennis Smith, Chase McCaghren, Heath McCaghren, Ronnie McCaghren and Gary Don Long.
