Funeral for Ilean Drinkard Farley, 68 of Decatur was Sunday, July 28, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ralph McCollum and the Rev. Don Springer officiating. Burial was in Oden Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Farley died Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur. She was born March 8, 1939, in Morgan County to George C. Drinkard and Edna Hall Drinkard. She married her husband of 47 years, Calvin Farley, on Nov.1, 1956, in Iuka, Miss. Her greatest joy was family gatherings where she would enjoy the company of her siblings, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and took great joy in caring for her pets. She never met a stranger and always had a hot meal prepared. Her family would like to especially thank the following for their care of Ilean: Dr. Christopher Nichols, Dr. Richard Champion, Dr. Anthony Dewitt, and their wonderful staff of nurses and assistants. She was preceded in death by her husband John Calvin Farley, a brother, Carl "Junior" Patton and his wife Betty Flack Patton.
She is survived by a son, John Calvin Farley Jr. of Decatur; a daughter, Ginger Ilean Farley-Brown and husband Jimmy of Moulton; a sister, Juanita Patton Dietz and husband George of Decatur; and her pets, Walter and Jake.
Pallbearers were Tommy Patton, Jason Beaver, Kyle Beaver, Scott Fussell, Michael Oden and Al Owens.
Stephen Dietz was an honorary pallbearer.
