Farmers Federation appoints directors

Four directors of the Morgan County Farmers Federation were re-appointed at the organization's annual membership meeting at Sparkman Civic Center Friday night. They are Mickey Childers, Ted Grantland, Hal Lee and Doug Wigginton.
The federation presented four college scholarships. Ethan James and James Mason Dunn each received a $1,000 scholarship and Stephanie Keel and Joshua Melson each received a $1,500 scholarship.
Childers, a member of the Scholarship Committee, reported that the organization spent $14,000 on scholarships in the preceding year.
Following a brief business session, during which the membership approved a revised set of bylaws, door prizes were awarded and homemade ice cream was served.
About 200 members attended the meeting.
