Funeral for Madgie May Brown, 86, of Lacey's Spring was Friday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church with the Revs. Melvin Brown and Don Trosper officiating.
Burial was in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at a daughter's residence. She was born October 24, 1920, in Morgan County to Tom Barber and Rody Bohann Barber. She was a homemaker and a member of Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church.
She received the Holy Ghost at age 29 and was known in the community as "Granny" Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimbo" Brown and three sons, Buddy, Johnny and Jackie.
She is survived by a son, Dewell "Big Boy" Brown of Lacey's Spring; five daughters, Madgie Inez Woodard, Betty Faye Edwards and Gina Raburn, all of Somerville, Frances Bonds of Lacey's Spring and Kathy Ellenburg of Hartselle; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Modie Wayne Smith, Charles Lang, Glen Lang, J.A. Sasser, John Sasser and Terry Bell.
