Stover shines at Alabama scrimmage
By Staff
Staff Reports, Hartselle Enquirer
Alabama junior wide receiver and Hartselle native Nikita Stover seems to have healed from a hip pointer he sustained in an August 6 practice.
Stover caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Greg McElroy in an intrasquad scrimmage August 11. He finished as the second-leading receiver in the scrimmage, grabbing three catches for 61 yards.
The former Hartselle Tiger came on strong at the end of last season, in particular at the Iron Bowl, where he finished with five catches for 101 yards including a 51-yard touchdown. He is expected to be the backup to D.J. Hall, but will still see plenty of playing time for the Crimson Tide.
